Chickens get shrinkage, too

I know it's cold outside, but really ladies?

  1. Hello.... I've always thought that small eggs were from first-timers. I have close to 50 chickens and I've harvested only one egg in the past 14 days. Story I've been told is shortage of sunlight is the factor

  2. That's generally correct; newly laying pullets will lay a few small eggs unyil everything is broken in.

My ladies are all at least 3 years old, so I can only attribute this abomination to weather or laziness.

And for morale's sake, we'll say weather.

  3. Has it been cold, or even extra cold. Shrinks mine.

    1. No, that's not what shrinks, in my case. That's just fine. What shrinks... I don't even think that has any impact on function... either of them. Not sure though, not a doctor type.
